Over the years I have experienced a variety of personal and professional experiences that I try to apply in my teaching practice. Not only have I worked as a registered nurse in acute and long-term care settings but my interests have even led me to study homeopathic medicine. I enjoy the outdoors and love the healing effects of laughter! My desire is that others find the joy in "doing well by doing good"...The Health Care programme at GSS allows students to appreciate their health and to aspire to live a healthy life.

Each course focuses on different aspects of the WHO definition of health: "Health is a state of biological, psychological and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease."
Curriculum topics include: health promotion and disease prevention; medical terminology; the communication process; anatomy and physiology; illness and disease; loss and disability; vital signs assessments and so much more...even grade 12 students become certified in CPR-C/first aid.
